After a lot of research, I made my purchase and am very satisfied. I can run it all the time, it's completely silent, small, and cleans my 1200 SF apartment. In my older place the Air Oasis seemed to put out a considerable amount more, which I later realized was due to the immense amount of toxins in that #&*$*@$ place! Thanks for a great buy. I have already recommended to others.

(More customer reviews)I've had this air purifier for about 2 years and just recently noticed the UV bulb had burned out. I could really tell the difference in the mold count in my apartment!
Mine is black and blends nicely next to my nightstand. I keep it on in auto mode anytime I'm home. It'll kick on a higher speed if it detects dust, odors, etc. The lowest setting is a nice white-noise level for sleeping. It's really low maintenance. I vacuum off the pre-filter and hepa every few weeks. I'd recommend you order an extra UV bulb, so you don't have to wait for replacement.
The only trouble I had with it was right out of the box, one of the clips that holds the cover on was broken. It doesn't need it to operate, so I didn't worry about it.

It is a very light weight product, I have three of them. One is in my bed room, one is in the living room and another one is in my car. One more cool thing is it is very easy to clean the collector plate with a little soap. I have them turning on 24 hours and work very well; it doesn't cost a lot for electricity.

However, do not buy this product online unless it cost less or equal to the price of Home Depot Stores. Home Depot has this product for a couple of dollars. Some vendors are selling this product for $1.99 + $7.00 shipping and handling. Even when you pay taxes on it is still much cheaper than getting through amazon. This price is outrageous for a low quality product. Just make sure you go to your local Home Depot Store and find it in the air filter section. You'll save a lot more money.

Hunter 30714 HEPAtech Small Tower Three Speed Air Purifier with Ionizer Review

(More customer reviews)I really enjoy using this air purifier. I find it's easier to breathe and sleep now that I am using this. From what I've read Hunter is great about standing behind their product. The noise level was certainly as expected. It has Turbo mode, which should not be run for extended periods of time (couple of hours) and also day and night. Day has a noise level somewhere in between the hum of my microwave and the hum of my computer. Night is just a bit louder than my computer fan. I actually love the white noise it creates in the background. It's easy to move around for people of average mobility and strength. I took off one star considering the price of the replacement filters and lack of value priced alternatives. The pre-filter runs $20 and needs to be replaced every 3 months ($80 per year) and the primary filter runs $30 and needs to be replaced twice per year ($60). Altogether that's $140 to keep the air of an 11 x 13 room clean. I feel the filters are way out of line as far as pricing. I buy similar filters (20 x 24 x 1) for $6-8 for my home air conditioner and the primary filter on this air purifier is made of identical material and is only a small fraction of the size yet runs three times as much? It just doesn't make sense.

I have had this air purifier in my office for nearly two years now and have been searching for replacement filters. If anyone knows where to purchase them, please provide info. I have written to the company and received no response. I believe it works well and would like to continue using it but I have basically had to remove and wash the two filters that came with the product. The only other option I have is to unplug it and throw it out. I truly hope there are filters out there and that the company did not plan on everyone throwing these into the land fill after 1 year!! The UV light also needs to be replaced.

The products in the refrigerator might not last longer or go through any transformation, but one can definitely tell that the refrigerator smells cleaner. (More customer reviews)To be fair, the product does not claim to be an air conditioner. However, it does claim to cool 12 degrees cooler, which I didn't find at all. I live in a dry Colorado climate, and still it is barely cooler than a fan. You have to fill it with tons of ice to even get that, and it requires refilling with water and ice often. If you don't clean it at least once a week, it starts smelling really bad.
All this effort of refilling and cleaning is not worth the 3 to 5 degrees cooler you get. For that, I'd rather just plug in a fan and not have to worry about it every day. Save your money and buy a portable air conditioner. It's worth the extra investment, trust me.

(More customer reviews)We've had the biozone 2000 for a couple of days, and it is a completely different animal than the two Whispure HEPA air purifiers in our home. It does not filter that air, but rather it appears to fundamentally affect its composition. As soon as you turn it on (it's runs almost totally silent), your nose will pick up a faint smell of ozone. And VERY fresh air coming from the vents. It's a powerful little machine: we put it in the room where the litterbox for our cats are, and it wiped out all smell in about 15 minutes. Even on its lowest speed, you can feel its effect all over our 1500 sq ft. house. The only downside is that it does leave a faint ozone trace in the air, and at high speeds a metallic odor. So, we run it on its lowest speed. But I highly recommend the biozone - it's no toy, but a serious air cleaner. Great for a pet room or any other space that has odor. But don't buy one that is too large - it can far exceed your needs. If you have 500 sq feet of need, buy the Biozone 500, not the 1000 or 2000. Our unit may be overkill for our house. But boy, does it work!

Honeywell HRF-14 Pure HEPA Permanent Replacement Filter Review

(More customer reviews)I got 2 of these to use with my Hooneywell enviracaire 11520 the other day and they work great! It is awesome since they're less than 1/2 the price of the 21500 (and the 22500 I was using this for the 17400), so though I was buying the 2 HRF-14s to replace one 21500 HEPA filter, I still saved about 10 bucks!
HRF-14 is Honeywell's new Universal replacement true HEPA filter. The box contains one true HEPA fileter and one foam gasket (I just throw this away since it isn't needed for the 11520). The chart on the insert indicates that it fits the following models of air purifiers (number of filters required follows model number): 11520 (2), 12520 (2), 13520 (3), 17200 (2), 18159 (2), 17400 (2), 50150 (2), 50200 (2), 50250 (3), 50300 (4), 50310 (4). Some of these setups also use the included foam gaskets to pad the filters to the right size, (but you never need more gaskets than filters so you don't need to worry about that when purchasing).
Useage is really easy. you stack them up, putting the gasket(s) on top as needed, wrap them with the prefilters just as you do with the old filters. Then you close up the air purifier and are breathing clean air once again!
Replacement policy is the same as it was for the non-universal filters... The HEPA filter should remain effective 3-5 years for light usage, 2-3 years for normal and 1 year for heavy usage.

(More customer reviews)This unit is nothing to write home about but I guess it serves its purpose. I purchased this fan for my small studio apartment. To be honest I'm slightly disappointed. If you are looking for a medium sized unit for an office or small apartment this unit does help.
That being said, don't be misled by the air cooling feature. This is not an air conditioner and will only give you slightly cooler air flow. The fan on high isn't really powerful. The two reusable ice packs are nice so that you can rotate them in. The timer control works well so that you can set it to run when you leave or go to sleep and it will continue to run for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours. The setup and controls are very user friendly. You can get this unit up and running within 2 minutes of opening the box.
I don't think I would buy this unit again. I'd probably look for something with a higher speed fan or something that cools the air a little bit better.

Blueair 650E SMOKESTOP E Series Air Purifier Review

(More customer reviews)I had high expectations for this filter, but it is absolutely unusable because it fills the room with a noxious fake-vanilla odor. In contrast to the statements in the owners manual (which claims the odor will only last a short while), this odor remained very strong for over a month of continuous use on the highest fan speed. Eventually, BlueAir sent me a replacement set of filters because the first set I had were supposedly defective. The odor from the set of replacement filters was even worse. All subsequent attempts to contact BlueAir customer service regarding this issue have gone unanswered.
I have no idea if this filter is at all effective in removing odors because they have introduced a much stronger, equally offensive smell into the room where the filter is. If you have a room that you'd like to reek of fake vanilla, buy this product, or perhaps just a $5 Glade plug-in.

HOLMES HAP240 Air Purifier Review

(More customer reviews)With 100 watts and a tiny coverage, this purifier is not energy efficient. The HEPA filter replacement for this product is so overpriced that the difference between the filter and the complete unit is only about $5-$10. Worse, Holmes stated that the HEPA filter must be replaced on 3-6 months of continued use. That's a pretty short life.
Quiet? nah. In fact it ties on loudness (on mid setting) with my Hamilton Beach TrueAir 04161, just slightly quieter on high setting ,and actually louder in lowest setting. The sound produced is also a rough motor type sound, which is not so pleasant to hear.
Its CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate, a measurement standard for air purifiers -- www.cadr.org) is only a measly 55-70.
However, it does its job removing particles from the air quite well on high setting.
If you can, get a better air purifier that has a cheap and long lasting HEPA filter.
