(More customer reviews)I'm not clear on the science behind "natural" ionization, but this lamp is definitely effective at doing something to lift the climate of a room. After a day of use, I've noticed that the room feels very relaxing. Walking in with the lamp running all day is like slipping into a hot bath after a hard day of work. If you pair this with natural light therapy, (e.g., use full-spectrum light bulbs in your lamps or lighting fixtures) I'm guessing this would be really effective at treating seasonal depression. I suppose my only complaint is that the room I use this lamp in feels too relaxing. I get drowsy after being around it for an hour or so.
It's also worth mentioning that the lamp is very aesthetic. You'd be surprised at how captivating a glowing chunk of halite can really be.

(More customer reviews)We purchased the frog Crane humidifier after having 2 that just wouldn't put out enough mist, we can squeeze this one in the bathroom sink to fill it, it works very well, and is cute too. I would imagine that any that are in that shape would work very well.
After my child started liking Sponge Bob, we decided to buy him the Crane Sponge Bob humidifier. It doesn't put out as much mist as the frog, as you can see in the picture I added under images, and we can't fill this one in the bathroom sink. It's no big deal, because we can use the kitchen sink or the bathtub, but in the middle of the night, if you realize it's out of water, it can be a pain. We still love the Sponge Bob...

-The machine is very quiet. It gurgles from time to time but is hardly noticeable.
-No filters are needed, thereby saving money and reducing the chance for mold to grow.
-LED nightlight is neither dull or too bright. The change is crisp and ambient without being abrasive.
-The ability to run the humidifier independent of the LED lights.
-After running for 2 days straight there is still absolutely NO dampness on or around the machine from the mist.
-Cool mist makes it safe for children. There is no possibility of being burned.
-Cool mist is also beneficial in the hot weather since it lowers the surrounding temperature.
-The size of it is compact and fits almost anywhere without looking unattractive.
-Top swivels 360 degrees. You don't have to change the position of the machine to change mist direction.
-Able to clearly see the water line.
Cons:
-The necessity of purchasing distilled water. When used with tap water a white "dust" accumulates on the surrounding surface. Gallon jugs of water are under a dollar, but it adds up.
-The tank and base do not lock together, however there are two blue dots that must match up on the outside for it to run. This is fine if you don't plan on having to move it around, but without a locking mechanism they come apart with little effort and enable spilling if not held upright and together. I mention this since kids will naturally want to touch and explore the machine. The water in the tank can not come out without the plunger being pushed down or the cap being off but there is a pool in the bottom half of the machine that can spill.
Overall this is a great product. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with filters or leaking tanks any more.

The supplied scents do a good job of 'freshening' (actually scenting) the air throughout most of my 1500 square foot house.
The fan noise is noticeable, I usually run it five or ten minutes at a time to achieve the same effect as spraying an aerosol air freshener. The blue lights in the tank are good for a 'mood' effect and can be switched off if desired. If you just want to 'tune out' for a few, this thing is excellent. My spouse smokes cigarettes several times a day and the BRT-150 does a good job of covering up the odor from a cigarette.
I would not say that this unit is a humidifier. It will run for three or four hours continuously and maybe only use a cup of water. I would also not call this unit an air cleaner as such. It is an effective air freshener. The air coming out just smells and feels good.
I, honestly, purchased the BRT-150 so that I could disburse essential oils without having to use heat, nebulizers just seem way too strange and complicated to me.
My wife thought the citrus scent was a little overpowering so I experimented a little and came up with a fairly good recipe for using essential (fragrance) oils. My recipe will only freshen up the air in the room it is in, not the whole house (I don't know how they get that strong of a scent from the supplied material).
I borrowed/modified this from a perfumers recipe for making a spray-able air freshener with essential oils.
1/4 teaspoon Polysorbate 80 (an emulsifier derived from natural oils). You can get this from a soap maker's supply store.
30-60 drops essential oils, some oils are stronger, experiment for the best amount for your choice. I used 30 drops of pine needle oil and that worked fine for me.
1 tablespoon of cheap vodka (for low smell alcohol). This is optional but I found the oil's scent was more intense with it.
Mix the ingredients with a few ounces of water and add to the water to the freshener's filled tank. You will see the familiar white bloom in the water as you add this mixture.
