I foster cats/kittens and have up to 20 animals in my home/garage at one time. I keep everything spotless but because of new animals, etc. there are a few that have been marking for a long time. I purchased at least 8 gallons of this product and used it exactly as prescribed. I have wood floors and you can only saturate so much without ruining them (I probably did in a few areas!). It never stopped them from returning to that area. I even used this product in conjunction with Feliway, as suggested. Nothing worked. When I contacted the company regarding my dilemma they said they could not help me because I purchased the product from a company other than themselves. I would always search for the best price considering I was purchasing so much! There was a $20.00 difference per gallon in some instances. I can say that the product smells nice! Other than that, it did not work for me and there was no help from the company once I had a problem with it. So much for their money-back guarantee!! I think they need to add a disclaimer where people can see it, that the product must be purchased from the manufacturer to be guaranteed. Since then I have tried Eco-88 which seems to work as well or better than anything else I have tried.

Bionaire Odor Grabber Litter Box Review

(More customer reviews)The Bionaire Litter Box is a good start at a good idea. I have owed cats for a long time, and currently have 6. I learned long ago that clumping clay litter claiming to be "dust free" or "99% dust free" is pretty far from the truth. In fact I have often wondered if they are not really "99% dusty". I the past I have kept an air purifier next to our main litter boxes in hopes to cut down on the dust. They helped some but never were perfect. Then I spotted the Bionaire Litterbox in my pet retail magazine (I sell pet products) and after mulling it over for a month I bought one. My first reaction was that the base is a bit short and I was afraid the motor sound would resonate in the box itself, scaring our cats, but felt only time would tell. The unit also comes with a litter scoop and holder that clips on the back of the unit. The scoop is pretty flimsy and I do not even use it. I just put on the scoop holder on the box back (if you do not there is a gaping hole there) and put the scoop there.
To my surprise, out cats really did not mind the motor sound, thankfully. But my note of the short box bottom is valid. On and off in my cat owning life, our cats have urinated against the box walls (usually in the back and corners) and often higher than I like. I cannot imagine that my cats are unique in this habit. The fact that most litter boxes at the pet store these days either have a high back or are just tall with a lowered entrance, tends to prove that my cats are not unique, that the wall and high urination is common enough that manufacturers have taken this into account on the designs. Not so with Bionaire. I wash each of out 4 litter boxes every 7 to 14 days (using soap and water) and put in brand new litter. When came time for the 1st wash of the Bionaire litter box I was a bit miffed and cursing the low box design. Our cats has not only managed to urinate between the top and bottom unit but into the clip hole in the back that holds the scoop, where the urine pooled and dripped down the back of the unit and into the throw rug below. It was a real mess. I had to take the entire unit apart and wash all parts. And this has not been a once affair, no. Our cats have decided to do this often enough that I have to spend several mornings a week using wipes and cleaning the space between the top and bottom.
On a positive note, the air filter works nicely. One of the boxes is in a bathroom and in the past the dust would build up on everything in only a couple of days. I have always just wiped down the counters and sink daily and cleaning the entire bathroom each Saturday. For the first time ever there was no (of a negligible amount) of dust everywhere after the week! And a look at the filter showed just where it all went!
After about a month of use the air cleaner motor began to act up. When I open the box (the clear flip top) to scoop it, the fan will start to make more noise. After a minute the fan sounds like a car with no muffler! Obviously there is something wrong. I have to hit it a bunch of times to get it to stop the super loud noise. It sounds like there is a problem with the lubricant and the bearings. At a guess, perhaps the litter dust clogs the unit? If that is the problem then there is a major flaw in the design.
I decided to call Bionaire and give them my comments on the unit, specifically the poor bottom wall height an scoop holder clip hole and it's location. Their support people told me that Bionaire is owned by Jarden Solutions and I needed to contact them. I was told I can get the contact info on their website. Being smart I was surfing to the site as we talked and I told them there was no contact number on that web page, just a reference back to the support number I was now talking to. The rep looked and agreed and he asked his manager what to do. He was told to take my info and they would have a rep from Jarden contact me. I gave them my info and that was 6 weeks ago, and no one ever contacted me. It feels like Jarden really does not care for comments since their subdivisions cannot take them and they have NO way to contact the head company and seem to avoid allow people to do so. *sigh*
Earlier this week I contacted Bionaire again because the motor noise issues are worse now. They took my information and said they would be sending me a new unit. Seems they will be sending me an entirely NEW system rather than just the motor top. What a waste of money.
I'll end up continuing to use the unit for now, unless our cats decide to urinate between the bottom and cover and clip hole more. If it becomes too much of a pain to wipe it down daily I'll go back to a standard box with an air filter put next to it.
My final thoughts: If your cats do not urinate up the litter box walls or do not do it much, and you have a problem with litter dust, this may be the box of your dreams. You may want to try some non clay litter before you put down the $129 on this unit though. It seems to me that if your cat's will tolerate a non-dusty litter you can save a lot of money. But if your heart is set on scoopable clay litter (like me) then you might want to give this unit a shot.

A few weeks ago I bought dehumidifier - much cheaper than AirFree. Dehumidifier really works. AirFree "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" doesn't mean that much. I wanted to return AirFree when I opened this up and see what I got for $239. I was told that return costs 25% if you open the item plus shipping both ways - it comes $75. Now I now: I should return it anyway.
Amazon was may trusted store.
!!!! After this buy is not anymore. I need to be careful.
AirFree product is waste of money. I would not recommend to anybody.

(More customer reviews)I bought this air purifier because it's reasonable in price and I like the tower design, which doesn't take up a lot of space. One thing I like about it is the optional ionizer. Most towers are ionic air purifiers, but I wanted a filter because I'm concerned about the ozone that the ionizers create as a byproduct. The noise on low is alright; it's tolerable, but I wouldn't want to sleep with it on medium or high because it's too noisy. I've only had it about a week and I think the air smells cleaner and I've stopped sneezing at home. I am seriously considering buying another one to put downstairs. Overall at the price I paid (about $70), so far I'm satisfied.

(More customer reviews)I bought this system to put in our small bedroom. I was eager to see the "six stage" activity. The six stages exist in two filters, one is a charcoal and the other a hepa. That usually counts only as TWO stages for most machines. It has two settings, loud and louder. The filtering is as expected. It is a small unit, good enough for the end table near your head. No ozone, ionizer, static collection, or any of that stuff, just two filters. Only came with one set of filters. It simply does not compare to other multi-stage products that are out there.

Vornado AQS 500 Air Quality System Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased two of these based on all the positive reviews and when they arrived I was initially thrilled. Until I opened the device and realized that its basically a fan with 2 small furnace-style filters. That's it. There is no real "sealing" of the air path so lots of leakage around the filters is guaranteed. Next, the filters themselves are simple furnace-style filters and not true HEPA filters like what was implied in the advertising.
If you look at the CADR ratings, the dramatically lower score for smoke vs. pollen or dust tells you that the filter really designed for larger particles above 1.0 micron. This is ok for dust and pollen but won't help for anything smaller like bacteria, viruses, and sub-micron contaminants. So if all you want cleaned out of the air large dust particles and bigger pollen, you might be happy with this filter.
This is a very inexpensive (read: cheap) design. Don't let the name and the good looks fool you...this is basically a plastic container with a fan on top and two cheap paper filters on the bottom. If you want something that is more than just a dust and pollen filter (like what you find on your furnace or in your car), then you should look elsewhere for a true HEPA filter with good air sealing.
As an aside, they list CADR certification when in fact not a single Vornado product is listed on the CADR site.

(More customer reviews)After 1 month of use, this IQAir unit earns my highest recommendation. I researched air purifiers for about a week before buying two IQAir units, one with the odor filter (Pro-Plus), and one without (Pro) to help with allergies and asthma symptoms that my family suffers from. Both of them work absolutely perfectly, with significant symptom relief within the first week of use. The packaging was very secure, with each unit contained in double boxes similar to what you find with high-end stereo equipment, including thick styrofoam inserts for cushioning. The unpacked units were sparkling new and clean, with an inspection page that detailed the performance actual performance for my unit at each of the five individual speeds. The manual was nicely organized and easy to comprehend.
These are sturdy units that are somewhat heavy, but come with a convenient handle recessed on the top, as well caster wheels (which are optional to install) to roll the unit if you need to move it periodically. The manual recommends clearance of at least 12 inches on all sides for optimal performance, so keep this in mind for placement in your room. It is noisy at the highest setting, but works very effectively at quieter settings 2 or 3 in my 13' x 16' room. I also use an IQAir unit in a 20 x 20 room, and it cleans the air very well at setting 3. My son noticed so much improvement in his allergies and breathing after just two days of use, that when I moved the unit to another room for a night, he begged me to return it to his bedroom. We went on vacation for a few days, and he said that he could not wait to get back home because he missed the IQAir purifier.
If you are comparing the units with and without the odor filter, even the one without the odor filter leaves the air smelling fresh and clean. In fact, for the first week, the one with the odor filter had a bit of a peculiar smell to it, which might have been coming from the odor filter itself. Unless you have a really significant odor problem, you can save the extra $100 that you pay for the "Pro-Plus" over the "Pro" model. The units look identical from the outside, and you can order a retrofit assembly from the IQAir if you later want to convert your "Pro" to "Pro Plus." Each unit has a remote that is slightly larger than a credit card, which is very convenient if I want to change the setting after I get into bed.
In summary, these IQAirs are well worth the price, which isn't as much as it seems after you factor in the yearly filter replacement cost, which is lower than most other brands. I wish that I had discovered IQAir years ago, before wasting my money on other air purifiers. I am so impressed that I am about to order a third IQAir to use in my office. I have previously owned the following air purifiers, none of which came anywhere close to my IQAir units: Oreck XL Air8D, Oreck XL 4000, Holmes (various sizes), Honeywell (the largest big round one), Sharper Image (Ionic Breeze). I hated cleaning the Oreck units, which were overpriced, and their replacement filters were also very expensive on a yearly basis. The Orecks also left a lot of dust all around them. The motor burned out on my large Oreck unit just after the two year warranty expired. The Honeywell filter was also very expensive, and the unit was extremely noisy. The Holmes units were ok for very small rooms, but had to be on the noisiest high setting to notice any air cleaning, had flimsy construction, and required frequent filter changes. The Sharper Image units were basically useless, as they did not improve the air quality or our allergy symptoms; they went back to the store after three weeks.

Holmes HAP706-U True HEPA Mini-Tower Allergen Remover Review

(More customer reviews)As soon as I got it, I started it running full-speed in my 120sq.ft bedroom all evening and night. Within an hour or two of running, I could already tell a noticeable difference in the air quality. I have the ionizer running as well. The air is fresher, and I can breathe easier. It is the first time in years, I woke up without my nose and throat congested from my dust/mold allergies.
While the box states it is only for rooms up to 81sq.ft. I found it has worked really well in my slightly larger room. The high fan-speed is powerful, but noticeable in sound. However, it is only just as noisy as any "wind" type fan. However, on the medium and low fan-speeds it is practically inaudible. It is currently on the medium fan-speed and my desktop computer is louder than it at this moment.
This takes the Holmes "D" type filters, and I can get a 2-pack at my local WalMart for $30. The instruction manual says that based on air quality and typical usage, you should change the filter every 10 - 12 months. Therefore, a $30 2-pack could last you two years. Also, of course, the Air Purifier does come with a filter preinstalled. Typical usage according to the instruction manual is operating it continuously.
I do not smoke, nor do I have any pets. So, I cannot attest to its usefulness in that regard. However, my room has a mold problem and I also have a dust allergy.
I am quite please with the Holmes HAP706-U Air Purifier.

I was looking for an alternative to giving him allergy medication every day. We keep it on the desk, right next to his bed. It's incredibly quiet and it has helped his allergies a lot. After about a month of constant use on the medium setting, I vacuumed the filter. It was filty. I was very impressed with how much dust it pulled from the air.
