(More customer reviews)This may seem like a lot of money with the shipping cost, but this is a lot of activated charcoal! I plan to use it to make my own little deodorizers for around the house. I ordered muslin bags separately and have been filling them and hanging them in closets and cupboards, stashing them in the car, and under the sofa. If you you're a DIY type, this is a lot more cost effective than purchasing the smaller quantities in a finished product.

(More customer reviews)I have a small, really old BIOTECH (Bionaire) air "purifier" which I had sitting on the shelf...almost gave up on using it again until I ran across this filter which fits! I also bought the charcoal foam, large size, which had to be cut; no problem there though. Amazingly, the thing has cleared out the mildew smell on my seasonally musty enclosed porch, and keeps the air nice and fresh. I run it on low, 24/7, with "ions" turned on. I did drag some sandpaper over the ion needle, which looked kinda rusty. But otherwise just flipped open the grates and stuck in the 2 filters. How great to be able to revive the old machine to be of such worthy use. Thanks for carrying these filters. :)

Essick Air 1051 AirCare Filter Review

(More customer reviews)This hangs on the back of the Essick/Bemis unit. I buy about one for every heating/humidifier season.
It WILL cut down on the amount of dust and crud entering the back of the unit and contaminating the saturated wick that is used to humidify.
As you well know with this unit, the cleaner and better quality the wick unit (1041) is, the better the unit will humidify.
It's not designed to be like a vacuum cleaner and suck particulate matter out of the air, but it WILL prevent air-borne particles from contaminating the wick unit and for that reason, I think it's worthwhile.
As a hint, change your wick element OFTEN, but one of these may last you all season...

I ordered this product from allergybeGone and it arrived promptly, however the packaging was so poor the pre-filter's metal frame was broken in multiple spots. Customer service was very responsive in offering me a refund, I however wanted a filter so I waited for them to restock and reship the filter. They assured me it would be packaged properly. When the filter arrived about 3 weeks later it was packaged in the exact same fashion as the first. While not broken the frame and metal filter have multiple bends and dents. This one will fit in the unit so I'll keep it- but I will not order pre-filters from Allergybegone again.
The filter appears like the original hunter but I can't know for sure.

It is just so expensive to replace and with two cats and a bunny and two kids with Asthma it should be replace every 4 or 5 months. I live in Canada and by the time I get the filter and pre filter it is almost $100.00. I read such good reviews about the Hunter tower I thought I should give it a try not realizing the cost to keep it going. Bottom line, product is great, too expensive.
